Ho-Pin Tung joins Panasonic Jaguar Racing Formula E team
Dutch-Chinese racing driver Ho-Pin Tung has been presented as official reserve- and development driver for the return of Jaguar to racing, with Panasonic Jaguar Racing, in the FIA Formula E championship. This announcement marks the return and involvement of the successful Chinese driver to the fully electric racing series, which is entering its third season.
At the launch event at the Jaguar Collections Centre, the new I-TYPE 1 made a dramatic debut driven by the team’s official reserve driver Ho-Pin Tung, marking the return of the icon Jaguar brand to racing. The line-up of drivers will be Adam Carroll (Northern Ireland), Mitch Evans (New Zealand) and Ho-Pin Tung. The Dutch Chinese brings a wealth of experience to the team, winning Formula BMW, Formula 3 and Asian Le Mans Championships; raced in A1GP, GP2, Superleague Formula and was official reserve driver for the (Lotus) Renault F1 Team. With his experience pre-season development and races in season 1 of the FIA Formula E championship adds to his value for Jaguar on their return to racing. Ho-Pin Tung will combine his role within Panasonic Jaguar Racing with his ongoing commitments for Baxi DC Racing Alpine in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The first race of the 2016-2017 FIA Formula E season will be through the streets of Hong Kong on 9 October 2016.
