Ho-Pin Tung fourth in Singapore edition Porsche Carrera Cup Asia championship
Chinese racing driver Ho-Pin Tung could not be trully happy with his fourth place in round ten of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia championship, conducted in the support program of the Singaporese Grand Prix, this weekend. A fourth place never satisfies. The Budweiser Team Absolute Racing driver was quick in free practise, he scored 2nd fastest lap time. In qualification the set up of the car gave a lot of trouble, resulting in a 5th place. Fellow contender Earl Bamber was punished because of exceeding track limits, which gave Ho-Pin Tung 4 th place on the starting grid.
Ho-Pin Tungs´start of the race was not his best ever and in the turmoil in the first corners he lost a place. At the end of the first lap he found himself at 4 again, because Avila out breaked en went wide. At the first stages of the race Ho-Pin Tung could not race same lap times as in the top of the field, but afterwards things went better and better. The young Chinese was able to close the gap with Alexandre Imperatori, at third, but by doing so he demanded too much of the tyres of his Porsche. This made him fall back till fourth place in the results.
