Ho-Pin Tung and team score best result in 6 hours of Mexico
The Baxi DC Racing Team Alpine scored at the high altitude circuit of Mexico its best result so far in this seasons fifth race of the FIA WEC Championship . Ho-Pin Tung, David Cheng and Nelson Panciatici made it to 6th in the LM P2 class at the finish li ne.
‘The result could have been better’, Ho-Pin Tung looks back. ‘We had a lack of engine performance probably due to the high altitude the circuit is on.’ The Baxi DC Racing Team Alpine in the Alpine A460 Nissan showed a solid performance throughout the weekend, with a nineth place on the starting grid as a result. The early phases of the race went very well, when Ho-Pin took over the wheel a fourth place in LM P2 looked promising. Right after he had taken over unfortunately an extra pit stop was neccesary, because the rain forced them to go for full wets. ‘This made us loose precious time, as did a small damage to the front of the car. We came back in the race at seventh and managed to finish sixth in LM P2’, Ho-Pin commented. ‘With great confidence we look forward to the next race at the Circuit of the Americas in two weeks time.’
