HO-PIN TUNG DISQUALIFIED AFTER FIRST RACE PORSCHE CARRERA CUP ASIA
Chinese racing driver Ho-Pin Tung´s result of the season opening race in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia championship, this weekend at Sepang, Malaysia, was decided behind the green table, in stead of on the track. He was taken out of the results list because of a missing spacer in the Porsches rear track rod. The missing shim has not given the young Chinese any advantage in the race, so he was very disappointed. His team, the Budweiser Kamlung Racing Team, has protested against the stewards´ decision.
The race at the Sepang circuit, near Kuala Lumpur, started for Ho-Pin with a sixth position on the grid. In the opening lap he was hit by French contender Benjamin Rouget and lost two places. He managed to reclaim the lost positions and finished sixth.
