Downpours Force Cancelation Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Race At Zhuhai
This weekends´second race in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia series, at the Zhuhai circuit, China, was cancelled due to the appalling wheather conditions . Conditions were severe the entire weekend. Chinese racing driver Ho-Pin Tung managed to claim fastest lap time in the second free pratise session . This small succes made him to go out as first of the bunch in qualification. ´I only had the opportunity to do one flying lap, a lot of guys were in their installation lap still, while I was on qualification pace. But the rain ruined it all´. Ho-Pin Tung scored fifth and sixth places on the grid of the two races. Saturday´s race was again in the wet, the young Chinese was fourth at the chequered flag. ´Conditions changed every minute and I was struggling with the car, ´ Ho-Pin looks back. With a fifth position on the grid for the second race there was hope for a podium finish. Heavy downpours on Sunday forced the stewards of the meeting to cancel the race.
