HO-PIN TUNG KNOWS HE CAN DO BETTER
‘Partially happy means you are not happy’, says GP2- racing driver Ho-Pin Tung looking back at two days of testing at the circuit of Catalunya, near Barcelona. A twelfth position on the first day and a 23th place after the second day cannot be considered to be results one can expect from Ho-Pin Tung. The young Chinese pilot looks back: ‘Always there are logical and reasonable explanations when things are going wrong, I prefer to keep those for myself. I do not want to have an explanation for every bad result, I am just not that kind of guy. Especially on day two I did have bad luck with the yellow and red flags, often shown at the very moments I was throttling up for a flying lap. When the flags were in again, the tyres were not perfect any longer, or I had traffic. Looking at my section times though, it is easy to see that a top 5 result could have been realistic. This all being so, results are results I cannot waive. The team is great, the car is good, I can do it, so let ‘s go for southern France,’ reflects Ho-Pin Tung. Next week the GP2-teams will test again at Paul Ricard. ‘It ‘s gonna be all right.’
