IN GP2 -RACES INSTANBUL
It was a hard race for Ho-Pin Tung in his BCN Competicion GP2-racing car, at the circuit on the outskirts of Istanbul, Sunday. As in Race 1 on Saturday, the young Chinese scored a nice 9th place. These two good finishes are his best in this GP2-season so far.
Ho-Pin Tung had a good start in this weekends’ second race, but at turn one he was forced to a wide line bringing him even off the track for a few seconds. There he lost three places. ‘It was a steady race after this typical first corner incident,’ he reported to his web site, right after the race. ‘Yesterday the car was much better, quicker indeed. So today I could have done better if the car had been as good as yesterday.’
‘Super Saturday’
‘The first race, Saturday, was certainly one of my best of this year,’ says Ho-Pin reviewing his weekend in Istanbul. ‘If I exclude the very late pitters, my lap times were in the top three. I lost a lot at the beginning of the race, because I found myself stuck behind slower colleagues, but after that it went super! Not so nice was the incident leaving the pit lane, which made me loose three places. This might have been a good race, we can always do better; I do look forward to Monza,’ says the young Chinese.
